pex in attic?

Would there be any problem with running pex tubing through an unfinished attic? This may be easier to re plumb my kitchen than up from the basement. Also, is there an ProPEX fitting to link onto a piece of cut galvanized pipe?

By the way, living in Portland OR, I don't think that freezing would be a problem in the attic, but it sure gets hot up there in august

I'm in Eugene, Oregon, you can run it in the attic, just insulate the Pipe, the pex connector is Pex x MIP adaptor, but needs a screwed connection, there is no slip connections adaptor.
