Pex in attic

I live in Florida and was reading about PEX on one of the web sites, it said not to use PEX in the attic because of the heat.
Any southerners had good or bad experiences with PEX in hot attics?

Pex or not... you really shouldn't put ANY water pipes into an attic.
Well, not unless the INTENTION is to make a water heater out of it.

Why are you needing to replace or repipe your home?

If worst comes to worst then I would build a chase through the house on the ceiling and run the pipe, start pulling sheetrock and run pipe or start busting concrete and run pipe but not in the attic.

I've read that in Florida, there can be a few nights each winter that gets below freezing. If that's true where you live, will you be able to prevent pipes in your attic from freezing?
