Pelican vs. Culligan??
I am not familiar with "Pelican", but if its what I think it is ie. No regeneration materials & totally NON-Electric then I would say to you ! BEWARE ! Some of those heavy thinkers out there would lead you to believe magnets wrapped around a pipe will rid your system of Calcium; NOT; that they will remove iron; have them prove it in front of you; that their system will alter the moleculor sp? structure of various compounds and liquids in your well water so that they 'combine' in some fashion to remove sulphor, chlorine, etc. gases. I only have 4 years of high school chemistry, but when a local carpenter friend asked me if I would be interested in one of these "Green" systems I got On-Line and talked to the manufactures rep. With all their glowing advertising it would not do any of the mentioned items PLUS after pulling teeth just to get their "best deal price" I called three Softener companies, one being Culligan who is considered to be the cadillac around here, got their prices to treat & soften water the conventional way, found out that of the three softeners; Culligan was by far the most expensive, BUT the "Green" system was 800-900 dollars more than that ! !
