Pedestal Sink Plumbing Options

Hello,
I'm replacing a pedestal sink in my bathroom and want to replace the waste pipe/p-trap as well (the house is 70 yrs old). The old sink had an unsightly combination of pipes and adapters leading to a massive 1.25 inch MPT connection just under the floor level. I'll try to attach photos of the old pipe combination and an example the simpler connection I'd prefer to install. I haven't seen any obvious plumbing solutions at the local hardware store that would allow easy connection of a standard P-trap to the threaded 1.25 inch MPT outlet in the floor. Any suggestions?

Cheers, GTH

I don't know what you mean by massive, 1 1/4
is the standard size for a lav. sink.
If you are replacing a pedestal sink what are you installing now? does make a difference.

Thanks for the reply. I'm plannng on replacing the old pedestal sink with another pedestal sink. I was't able to find a standard 1.25" MPT connection in the hardware store, nor on-line. I recognize the old S-trap plumbing configuration is no longer "up to code", but I'm not interested in ripping up the floors and walls to reconfigure - I'd just like to replace the sink.

Ayuh,... You must not be lookin' very hard....
PVC pipe fittings...

If you find female fittings, just use a close nipple to join 'em...

You need to go to where the Pros Buy. I can assure you they are not shopping at Lowes or Home Depot.

Hit a local plumbing wholesaler and bring in your pipe. Ask if they have the fitting your after. If they don't chances are it can be shipped to them in one or two days.

Easy as pie. Shop at the right stores...

Thanks for the advice. I'm not planning on using PVC, but I do have a wholesale plumbing dealer nearby. I'll bring my pipes and discuss options with them.
