There could be plumbing, duct work, wiring, forced hot water pipes, most anything behind that step out.
There's nothing already made to fix that.
But it sure could have been made to look a whole lot better.
One could have been made out of PVC lumber, plywood covered with white formica, finish grade wood painted the same color as the wall ECT.
Could also change the whole thing to a reguler vanity and just cut out the bottom to fit the step out.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but I'm guessing there's also a large gap behind the toilet to the wall, correct? If that's the case, and if it was my house, I'd pad out the wall to meet the backs of the fixtures up to the height of the window sill. Use a nice beaded wainscotting. Then I'd install a cap rail/window sill/shelf that ties it all together.
