paint in septic

Hope I didn't ruin my septic tank. Someone helping me paint, washed out painting bucket, rollers and brushes in a utility sink. There was a lot of paint left that went down the drain.

Am I doomed?

Depends if the paint was oil based and if it was a lot of paint thinner. If it was it could kill the bacteria in the tank and cause you to have a blockage, only time will tell.

no, it was latex. also I'm buying some Ridex today, especially as the house has been vacant.

From now on will make sure paint tools are wiped on rags before washing.

That rid x works, well also baking yeast does the same thing. Promotes bacterial growth
