P Trap leak
I had to replace the pop up drain in my bathroom sink. I'm reattaching the p trap, and the back part that connects into the pipe coming out of the wall leaks. I am using the same pipes, and they did not leak before. What am I doing wrong?
I did take the p trap off to put the pop up drain in place. Is it possible I lost a washer somewhere? Thanks. |

P Trap leak
It is likely that you dropped a nylon seal out of the trap. Should be 1-1/4". Look around the floor for it. Most are light in color (like silicone colored) and can easily be missed.

P Trap leak
I've just recently got into having to do some plumbing here and there to my own problems and helping some other people out so take what I have to say lightly. When you say coming out of the wall I am assuming you talking about incoming water and not a drain. If you are talking about the screw on lines then just like already stated you probably lost a gasket somewhere.. Happened to me. If you are talking about actual incoming pvc water supply then be sure you have used primer following a generous supply of pvc glue on top of the primer before reconnecting.
