Outdoor water line

I have copper pipe to a spigot coming from the side of my house for a hose. I want to tap into that line, run it underground about 20 feet to my built in BBQ for a sink.

Would I be able to use PVC? If not what type of piping would be best? Trying to avoid copper because of price.

Relevant : The hose is located in Phoenix, AZ. There's a very small chance of it freezing.
