old stool wont fit on new plastic floor flange????what now?
Been around about every piece of plumbing for over 50 years,,never had THIS happen.
New ceramic tiled bath floor,,,put new plastic 4" from stack to stool, old cast and flange were beyond gone under stool and stool was not bolted down for awhile.
Anyway we set stool on flange without wax ring for emergency nightime use,,probably half dozen times during course of this total bath rebuild. Stool always rocked but we didnt have flange glued to pipe yet.
Today we get to the point of ready for permanent install,,,set stool on flange temp to mark front holes to drill thru tile. Stool is old Mansfield four bolt'er yet.
Stool rocks 1/4 inch on flange w/o wax ring or rubber flange in wax. With wax ring would rock almost around half inch. Measure distance from where it sets in tile floor to porcelain where flange rests and its only 3/8 ". New floor flange is about 1/2" all by itself.
HOW do you put an older stool down on a newer plastic flange???? Why does these things happen to ME?????
Thanks in advance for any help...I remain just -don-
