old boiler & baseboard removal

i recently got a new forced air furnace & havn't removed the old boiler & baseboard heating elements. i would really appreciate any suggestions on how to go about removing it myself. especially when it comes to the copper piping! it's very frustrating!

Complete steps I would follow

Drain it all the way
If you are good with a recip cut the pipes out... I would start at the top floor and go down so if you get any water in the system it will be minimum to clean up.
When you get to the Boiler... two ways to remove them
Your Muscle
Someone elses muscle

I prefer the second especially if it is an old cast iron... I have a guy that will come and remove them for free.

If I need to remove it and it is Cast Iron I break it down by removing the shell... Cutting the bolts... then use a hammer and chisel to split the seams. more work but it will save your back especially if you have steps. Steel you are stuck removing them in one piece. Either way spend a couple of dollars and buy some good plastic to cover the floor. The black crap can ruin EVERYTHING
