Now onto the shower...

I have built a bathroom in the basement, subfloor, and tiles are in, toilet is in (thanks Oh Mike!), now onto the shower.

I have a cement pan with liner and backer board up. Unfortunately I made the doorway too small and don't have the room to put backer board on the inside of the door frame (where the door hinge would be set).

Am I able to staple Metal lath to the inside of the door frame, then thin set mortar, then tile?

Other solutions are welcome! Unless they involve starting over...

As you can see I have gotten to the point of using Redgard and was just about to tile (after another coat of Redgard), but thought I may be doing something wrong. I have simply taped the 2x4 frame using proper fiberglass mesh tape and then put a coat of thin set on and a coat of Redgard.

So again.... Should I put metal lath over this then thin set, Redgard, then tile?

I admit I'm blond, but I'm totally confused by your pic.
Is it right way up?
