At the end of my tank fill, on my toilet there's a noise that sounds like a horn is this a problem, what's wrong with it.

Your fill valve may need replacing soon! No problem though.

It may also be "water hammer?"

Pull the tank cover off.....reach in and manually lower the arm to get the sound......

It becomes pretty easy to figure out if it's water hammer (thumping) or squeaky valve (higher freq)

If a water hammer issue....replacing the valve may not help....squeaky? Yes...replace the valve.

Do you hear what sounds like a 'drip' at the back of your toilet? If so, it's your valve leaking slowely.

On water hammer....one trick that has worked for me....I crank the water supply valve under the tolet down a few turns....the toilet will not refill as quickly but is slows down the water velocity and reduces the hammer or does away with it completly.

Ok, it wasn't water hammer, so I got a toilet fill valve & flapper kit & I needed a different toilet connector, It took me hours but no more noise and it only cost me $14.00 to do myself and I'm happy that (I) did it. Thank You!! Sue
