No water to stand alone shower

Hi forum, this is my first post. We recently bought our first home, so learning as we go here. I have a stand alone shower (the master) that is having issues. A few months ago when we did the inspection, the shower worked fine. I've had some guys working in the bathroom recently to install a new tub (which isn't complete yet), but when I tried to turn on my shower yesterday, it ran for about 30 seconds, then lost pressure, and finally stopped working almost completely (water is dribbling out of the head). I've looked around on here, and I think it might be a shower head issue, but wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions for what I might need to check to fully diagnose the problem. Would it be possible that something got stuck in my pipe leading up to the shower? All other water sources appear to be working fine in the house. Any help or feedback is appreciated!

Why not just remove the shower head and see if that's the problum?
Very common to get some trash knocked loose inside the line that will block up the head, antiscald valve and faucet aeriators.

Welcome! Glad you found us.

If you suspect the shower head then I would suggest removing it and turning the shower on. If it gushes out then the problem is in the head, otherwise your problem lies elsewhere. It does seem awfully suspicious though that you're having work done and you now have this issue.

Thanks to both of you. I'm going to take the head off when I get home tonight and see if that works. If the problem isn't the head, what would I need to check next?

Make sure they did not leave the water turned off someplace.
Still not working then it's time to shut off the supplys and take the control valve apart.

I'd start by talking to those guys.
See what is turned on/off and how before diving into anything else.

It ended up just being a stopped up shower head. Thanks for the help.

By the way, this is why you are supposed to run water through faucet fixtures before putting the heads/strainers on when installing new ones.
