No Hot Water Pressure In Shower

Here it goes...Our shower lost hot water pressure one day when I was in it. I tried a few things, blow out system, check valves, cartridge, etc. and I can't get the pressure back. Everything else that runs on the same water heater works fine. I just replaced the old cartridge with a new one and still no luck. The cold water has fine pressure but as I turn up the temp of the shower the pressure goes way down. I just don't know what to do next. I had a plumber out and he suggested we have to knock down the tile.walls to open it up so we can see. I don't want to go that route as I just spent 8K renovating it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Very frustrated guy / with a upset wife....

Thanks

If you end up having to access the shower body remember you can get to it from either side. If the back of the wall is Sheetrock it's much easier to get to that way.
One thing to do it remove the cartridge and any seals, etc then let the water run for a few seconds with no cartridge in place. This will help blast out any crud in the lines. Take precautions not to get water in the wall or anywhere else you don't want it though and make sure you don't leave any small parts that are going to get blown out and lost in there.

I never even thought of that. If I have to go in I'll go in from the other wall.
I already blew all that out.....so I guess that didn't work. Any other suggestions??

No Hot Water Pressure In Shower

reply..

I have removed the shower head and there was some stuff caught up there but that affected both hot and cold. Now its clean but no improvement.

When we flushed it, it was without the cartridge but it was hard to tell becasue both the hot and cold lines come out of the valve in the same spot. There was alot of water....Is there a way to turn off the cold so I can just flush the hot line??

Not unless you have seperate valves for the bathroom. In which case you may be able to shut off just the cold supply. Problem is if it's a pressure balanced valve which is probably is you won't get any hot pressure without the cold side being pressurized.
