I have a Bradford White MITW50L6BN15. My water heater is less than 3 yrs old. It appears to me that the pilot light is no longer on and the pipes coming out of the top are no longer hot. When I unplugged the heater and the ignitor and waited a short time and plugged it back in you can hear the fan kick on but nothing else happens. Is the problem the ignitor? When I called Bradford white they were not very helpful. They bounced me around to several people and then recommended I call one of their contractors to fix the problem. I don't have the money to waste on someone telling me I have multiple problems if I dont. I want to try to troubleshoot the problem myself. Any suggestions on what it could be? Please help as although it is summer...I NEED HOT WATER!!
if you are on natural gas, call the gas company.explain your situation and they might help. if not ask them for a reputable plumber to help. they may or may not recomend someone, but if they do, there you go. also, a plumbing supply store (not hd or lowe's) may give you a good name. we plumbers are people too and not all of us try to get over on folks. buddy builder
WITH A POWER VENT WATER HEATER YOU HAVE BETWEEN 6 & 12 "SAFETY"
INTERLOCKS TO PREVENT A "EXPLOSION"
OR SOMETHING ELSE DANGEROUS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
THIS TAKES A TRAINED TECHNICIAN TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE AND CORRECT !
THIS IS DEFINITELY "NOT" A D.I.Y. PROJECT !
CALL A FACTORY TRAINED CO. IT'S POSSIBLE ? THE PART OR PARTS ARE FREE
"BUT" YOU STILL NEED TO PAY FOR ALL LABOR
