no ciculation in one zone of forced water heating system
The Taco pump is running, from there to check valve and up to ball valve is cool. All the other circuits are hot to the touch. I added another zone which required sweating of additional pipe to the problem circuit due to redesign. The ball valve was difficult to lever off on problem line. Everything went well during repiping, but when system fired up this one zone wouldn't circulate. The pumps running, and it's pumping chamber is hot, but no radiant heat eminating outlet side of pump, bolted on top of pump is check valve, it, and the copper pipe leading to ball valve are cool?

sounds like one or both are on backwards. Not all pumps are meant to pump away from the boiler. Some systems have them on the return side of the line.

Im just guessing

Check that ball valve that was hard to close.

My guess is that the ball was stuck for some unknown reason and that valve is still stuck in the closed position.

Look closely at the spindle that turns the ball. It should be parallel to the pipe. Maybe remove the nut that holds the handle on to confirm if you can't see it well.

If you have to change that ball valve, you'll have to wait for spring when you can shut the whole system down.

It's actually better to have the pump pushing the hottest water through the radiator piping than pushing the coolest water back into the boiler.
