New vent in basement

I'm moving over my laundry tub about 8 feet in my basement. I'll need to run a new vent, and it will be a big pain to run the vent pipe outside. Can I terminate the vent pipe inside the basement and just cap it off with this:

In theory, looks like this would work fine, but is it up to code to do this if it terminates inside the basement?

New vent in basement

Check with your Building Inspection Department to see if "air admittance valves" are allowed in your jurisdiction in lieu of normal venting. VAP is a brand name and so is www.studor.net
They will work fine, IF allowed by your local code.
Good Luck!
