My husband installed a new vanity and the plumbing is not lining up. We've tried a flexible J-bend, but it's not working out and we're not sure where to go from here. I'm including a picture because it describes the situation much better than I can.
You need to rework everything from the wall out. There is a tool for reaming out a PVC collar so you can insert a new fitting. BUT......don't damage the wall elbow, or you will be doing some drywall tearout. Maybe a pro would be best for this one.
Thank you for the advice. I've passed it along to my husband. Before I call a plumber, I apparently need to call a psychologist to take care of his stubborn insistence to do this himself!
I'm not a professional, but I think those flexible pipes should be outlawed. There nothing but a clog and leak waiting to happen. It is one thing when DIY misuse something, but is there a legitimate use for the flexible pipe?
I would have to agree, I can't stand those silly flex pipes.
