New Toilet leaks

We had a new kohler toilet installed a few weeks ago, and I was hearing the water run every now and then, I started to monitor it, I saw the rubber plunger had a slow leak, so I called kohler, they sent me a new plunger, and its still leaks water? any idea why this is happening? Thanks, gary

New Toilet leaks

Check the surface where the "plunger" seats. There may be a piece of trash preventing a good seal.

New Toilet leaks

I tried that, emptied the tank, after turning off water, the seal looks clean. the kohler rep is now sending me a different seal that goes under the tank, I guess I have to take it apart to get that on? does that make sense that this seal can be leaking, after that I'm not sure where or why the water is leaking?
