How far from the finished wall is the sewage drain supposed to be located for correct installation of a commode?

New Toilet Install Question

I was just checking this myself in a DIYer book... it says minimum 15" from center of toilet drain to the finished side wall. Pros correct me if I'm wrong.

New Toilet Install Question

Toilet will be 12" off the back finished wall, and what RDS said 15" off finished side wall.

New Toilet Install Question

RDS is correct...as a minimum, toilets require a 30" minimum WIDTH to be installed (36" is much nicer... )

Normal ROUGH IN for a toilet from BACK finished wall to center of toilet flange is 12". This allows you to purchase a normal toilet (most options at best prices).

They also make toilets to fit a 10" rough in and a 14" rough in..but they are more expensive and there are fewer models to choose from.

Good luck...
