new stem, new vibration
I'm new to this forum, and I'll appreciate any help I can get. I just removed a rusted-stuck American Standard shower diverter stem, and installed an identical new one. When I turn the diverter handle from tub to shower the pipes vibrate. There is nothing to adjust on the diverter stem. It is threaded fully into place. Is there anything I'm missing? Many thanks. I'll look over all the previous threads once I have a chance, but I'm hoping to solve this ASAP.

When you got the new stem, did you make sure the screw holding the rubber washer in place was tight? Out of the package new, these are not tight and need to be tightened before installation (at least that's the way mine are). Sounds like the washer is flopping around under pressure. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it will cause the exact problem you have described.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, that was one of the first things I re-checked. This has gotten the best of me!
