New pipes

Just had a poker game at a friend's brand new house. I noticed in his basement that all the plumbing I could see was in rubber hoses, and not pipes.

I'm curious as to whether changing out pipes to these hoses would be worth the trouble?

It's PEX, and unless you just want something to spend money on or unless there is something wrong with what you have, I'd leave well enough alone.

If it aint broke, don't fix it.
