new P trap - any feedback?

I found a newly invented P trap, with an exterior knob that sweeps through the trap and clears out clogs. It also allows you to catch an article that falls into the drain. It is clear plastic, so you can see the water draining through - like the view of those clear plastic ant farms!
Anyone have one of these, and what is your experience over the long term? Does the plastic hold out? Does the rotating knob stay watertight?

Sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

1. "Sweep"? Sounds like a point for water to leak out.
2. How often do you have a p-trap get cloged?

We have been in our house 11 years....I have yet to have a blockage of the p-trap. One of the advantages of ABS plumbing is that it does stuff does not stick to it as well.....

I think it's better to prevent blockage......dont' throw that crap down the sink.....that is what sink filters are for....

Agreed. The purpose of a trap is to prevent sewer gases from entering your home. Nothing but liquid should go down it.
I think those spinner traps belong on the same shelf with the miracle putty

I've seen those at the big boxes and my first instinct was to cringe thinking about how much more quickly it would clog when hair, etc... gets caught in that little wheel inside the trap.

Nothing I'd ever use. If you're concerned about clogging traps, get the kind with a removable plug for easier cleaning.

P-traps approved with UPC stamps are designed to be self cleaning. Hence, that p-trap is illegal.

Enough said.

How does a P-trap clean itself? Just curious.

When a p trap is properly sized it is considered self cleaning
