New member, mixing valve question.
Hello everyone, i'm new here, i've been lurking and finally have a question of my own!
My mixing valve broke in the 'off' position last week. It was one of the kinds without volume control, so it was always full pressure, and it looked like it was older...not sure. I removed the restricters out of my shower head and shower neck and the pressure was insanely high on my shower, it rocked...until it broke.
A few days ago we bought an American Standard kit with volume control that was like $70 from home depot, but JUST installed the mixing valve+trim+handle, we didn't mess with the tub faucet or shower head/neck yet. After getting it hooked-up, the pressure was SIGNIFICANTLY lower, it sucks taking a shower now. I read the directions and it doesn't have adjustment screws for the anti-scalding feature, jsut a stop ring you adjust, so that doesn't effect the pressure at all.
Can anyone reccomend a brand that has good flow through the mixing valve? I would prefer to get one with a volume control handle, but if all of those are lower pressure than non volume control ones, I can go that route. Thanks again
