new kohler tub - drainplug not sealing

Installed a few months ago, it's a Mariposa (K1229-LA). Drain plug just twists in to seal and then untwists a little to remain up so water can drain. It's never worked well but now it won't seal at all - the rubber gasket seems to be sticking out around the perimeter of the plug. Checked Kohler website and they don't show a parts diagram or list any replacement parts. Anyone out there familiar with these things? Thanks!

Sounds like it's just adjusted too high. A lift and turn stopper will have a set screw that holds the (chrome) handle tight against a (brass) shaft under the rubber gasket. They're kinda awkward to reach but, you'll need to loosen the set screw, pull the handle off, then thread the brass piece up or down to the right height. Note before putting the handle back on, you'll notice a flat part on the round brass shaft. Your set screw needs to line up with that.

LateralConcepts - Don;t know how but your message got the drain working perfectly, the gasket back in place and its original size. I didn;t have to do a thing. Must be thinking (laterally) outside the box. And now that I know where to look I see the setscrew and so I know how to take it apart, if (when?) the problem reappears. Thanks!
