New Hot Water Tank & Lines

I am installing a new gas hot water tank and also going to replace all the copper lines in the house with Pex. My question is can I use Pex right out of the hot water tank or should I use copper to the manifold and then Pex. I am replacing both the hot and cold copper as the lines are corroded and have developed a few pin holes.

If it requirs an inspection. You will need to ask inspector.. Some here will allow pex right out of the wh some want about 6"-8" of copper comming out of the tank

Thanks kenmac, yes it will need an inspection so I will check with the inspector. I looked in the building code but there was no mention but the book is 2008.

Well, around my parts. Some will go strickly by book some add what they want. I always ask because the inspector ( around here ) has the last word. I will work in 1 city get inspection & all is ok. I go to another city do it the same way & that inspector wants it done differently
