New Facet install

I have this facet to put in with no instructions. It is sold out of Atlanta GA. the company is Cifial USA. This has o-rings and rubber seals, they didn't say anything about using any putty. Has anyone come across a install like this? Should I cut the holes in the granite the size of the valves or stems? The company kind of sounded like I should know how to do this, my wife got this on line, loves HGTV, I'm going to try to put a block on that channel. Thanks

New Facet install

More often, manufacturers are using gaskets or o-rings for faucet base to top seals. If the top is flat, they work fine. If not completey flat, you may need plumbers putty. Plumbers putty is not recomended with some granites and marble, it stains them.

New Facet install

Thanks, Just Bill,
The granite people showed up on Friday, I went to put the sink in the holes were to big. I tried to use silicone the hole was to big, it was a good thing that I pulled it apart, the silicone was turning the brass black. They came today and fixed the holes with epoxy just enough to get the o-rings. Things are looking good.
