new bathroom in basement

Need to help put bathroom in basement.Bathroom is 18' from main stack.Sewer line runs under cement thru area where bathroom is going and exits to city sewer.Looking to dig up sewer line and tee into main sewer.Trouble is the venting, cannot vent directly above tub/toilet area as living room is above. How far sideways can I run vent line in the basement ceiling until I can find a spot to go vertical in a closet on the main floor and thru to attic and roof. And what is the minimum size of plumbing I can use for vent line?

In the basement you have to run your vent vertical until you pass 42" from bottom of basment floor, they you can use elbows to run horizontal until you find a good spot to run vertically up through to the first floor. If you are adding just a standard bath(toilet, lavatory, and shower) a 2" vent is fine.

thanks, seem to be tough to interpret the code.Yes it will be tub, toilet ,sink .some suggest that the vent had to be the same size as the 3" drain line the toilet would be dumping into.Is there a maximum horizontal length you can go before going vertical again?wouldn't want flush the toilet and suck the sink and tub p-traps dry.
