Default Need some advice plz....

hi guys,

I need some advice..

I have a town house for rent and yesterday they called me and told me that they think the sewer is clogged.. they told me when they flush the toilet.. the toilet would not flush and water start filling up..

I called my uncle..he is kinda like a handyman and he has a commercial plumbing machine..

he tells me that the pipes inside the house are okay.. but the one that goes out to the street is clogged.. and he tells me he think the ground craked the pipe..

the pipe comes from my house and goes the drive way...

do I call my subdivision? or the city about this matter?

my uncle is telling me that I might have a good chance on digging up the drive way...

what should I do?

I live in Atlanta, GA

Your best bet is to call a plumbing company to attempt to restore drain flow.Where exactly did he tried to rod out the line from?and how does he know that the sanitary sewer line is cracked?did he use a camera to inspect the sewer line?the subdivision wont touch it for the simple fact that your the only one having the problem and as far as calling the village good luck, they wont get involved unless the village main is backing up

I would call a local plumber with a sewer camera and have the line looked at with a camera.

If the line is broken this will help you see and locate the break.

Bad news that the line belongs to you and the cost will be on you.

If you locate a break have the plumber get locates for utilities and have him/her get it dug up and repaired.

Hopefully the good ol' relative discount just didn't rod the line to the main sewer and that is all it is..sewer drain just needs to be rodded

first have them attemped to rod out the line and if that doesn't work,do as what Plumber101 recommended to have them camera out the line and hopefully your able to restore some flow to visually see the problem.Just know this if the line is holding water you wont be able to see any thing
Good luck and keep up posted on what you find
