Hello,
Found that my main water supply line has sprung a leak where it enters the foundation. Line is 3/4 inch Black PE pipe. Not planning on replacing the entire line to the street, yet a bit leery of a buried connection. Plan on using a barbed fitting per ASTM d 2609 with stainless steel clamps but certainly open to other suggestions.
My bigger question is in the foundation entrance. The township code says to use a protective sleeve twice the diameter of the pipe. The sleeve is to be filled with oakum and then sealed "with an approved sealant". Looking for help on the correct sealant to use, also planning to use a 2" PVC pipe for the sleeve, let me know if that is not a good choice. Thanks for any and all suggestions.
