Need to replace 34 x 48 shower base (has surround walls inside shower base lip)

Howdy - I'm going to be replacing a shower base, 34 x 48 (36? x 48), don't remember now. There are some surround walls that fit inside the lip that runs around the top/perimeter of the shower base, so now I'm wondering if I'm going to have to remove those three sides of the surround, in order to remove the old base and install the new (because of the lip)?

Thanks much for any help.

Yes, you'll need to remove the sides and back wall if they are full "plastic" or other type panels. If it is tile, you can remove a few rows up and get the pan out that way.

Could someone please tell me what a fair price for this job would be, or how many hours it should take.

The old shower base is cracked in the middle, so I suspect the new one would need a few pieces of bracing (or whatever you call it) underneath. The underside of the new base is styrafoam. Maybe I could cut some slots in the styrafoam and insert some 2 x ?'s

Would there be a better way to strengthen the floor. Not sure yet why it cracked - maybe there's styrafoam under the old one and it just compresses over time? Maybe a leak eventually destroyed the styrafoam?
