need to repair 3/8" gas line

accidentally cut the 3/8" copper line today while demo'ing.
how do i repair it? can i sweat a coupling on there, or is there some kind of compression fitting coupling?
i assume not safe to be sweating the pipe even though the tank is shut off?

you really don't want to sweat this gas line ....they make compression cupplings.. some has used them for repair......I recommend to flare it ...because its the safest for gas using copper tubing...

Also that repair must be outside the wall not inside a closed wall.(can not be concealed)
