Need help with Washer!!!!!

We bought a new fancy energy efficient Whirlpool washer. Our problem is we are renting a previously Amish house. They used a tub sink and ringer washer. We have a regular faucet on the tub sink. Currently only the hot works. But because the washer is so fancy with all its sensors it needs hot and cold to run properly. Obviously we need to get.the cold.water.working first. But any suggestions on how to install the washer to the sink with both hot and cold with very little work or demo. And also besides making sure.the cold water is actually on what else might be the problem with it not working? Any help would be much appreciated. Very much.
