Exactly what is baking soda plus vinegar supposed to do except react with each other and form CO*2 and H*20 ? I am unaware of any cleaning capabilities when those substances are combined. As a matter of fact, I believe that the free Na that results from this reaction could result in the formation of a salt, which could encrust upon your pipes.

You can form salt from the mixing of vinegar and baking soda? it produces a gas. Besides, I flush it with really hot water for long period of time. Shouldn't cause any damage to good piping from the one or two times. It cleared my bathroom drain

So ... those who said it was plugged was right. Somehow the pipe was plugged down the line. I called a plumber ... who screwed it up and backed up all sinks in the house and said he would have to charge me ot to get it fixed cuz it was after 7. This was roto rooter. Excuse me? he backs up all my sinks and didn't fix the problem and then wants money to fix the other problems he created? The cabling for 3 hours ended up damaging my CI pipe and now I have thousands in cost to repair the pipe under a slab.
I'm working with another plumber for this. I'm trying to get them to help me out with financing. I can't believe what a nightmare this year has been. I had everything go wrong in this house. Apparently multiple plumbers have stated that this problem is pretty bad and one said it's the worse he has seen in 5 years. Also agreed that no one could have known about this problem except previous owners.

Anyhow ... i need to take on a 2nd job now

thanks for the advice ppl.

Here's my two cents:
AAVS go bad, water comming out of it is not a good sign (it needs to be replaced)

The use of the garbage disposal forcing water out of the AAV indicates it can't get down the drain.

To me I would look for a partial stoppage in the line beyone the sink where the lines come together, you need to run a snake a lot farther down the line, a plunger is not going to work.
