I am starting a basement finishing project with a bathroom that is already roughed in. After identifying all drains and other misc. I noticed something between the floor joists that I had not seen before. It is a piece of capped PVC in the same area where the bathroom goes and sticks down about 6" from the floor. I am assuming it is for a bathroom ceiling vent but that is just a less than educated guess. A pic is attached so hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
I'm 99% sure that is a vent for your rough in work in the basement. Vent your fixtures to that pipe- it leads to the rest of the venting system upstairs nad eventually exits the roof. When you cut the cap off, you might have some standing water in it.
