Need Help with double bath sink trap after remodel
I recently upgraded my double sink vanity. The drains are 1 1/2" pvc, the problem is that one of the traps is aprox 1/2" off from where it needs to be to connect in with the sink tailpipe. It almost looks like the trap u needs to stretched to compensate. I realize that is not possible. Does anyone have any sugestions to remedy this problem.
The pvc drain on the problem side has no room to cut and adjust. It is tied in with a wye and a short piece of straight pipe glued to an elbow which is part of the trap.
TIA

If you was to cut the elbow off where the pipe comes out of the wall, would there be enough pipe left to glue on a new elbow?

Could you cut the lower portion (bottom of curved area) of the trap and then use a rubber connector to extend enough to allow for the upper threaded section to connect?
(unconventional)

Ron, Yes their is enough room to glue on a new elbow if the old one was cut by the wall. There is a short piece of pipe coming of the wye from the wall to what looks like a 45 degree or less elbow. Then another short piece of pipe to the elbow for the trap.
Redline, It may come to your idea if I can not figure this one out. It's funny, I also thought of cutting the elbow and trying to glue in an extension. Same idea, but yours is easier.
Thanks guys for the input, keep it coming

Once you cut off the elbow and glue on a new elbow you should have no problem with the connections.

I've replaced plumbing where someone used a piece of rad hose and hose clamps for something like that.

Sink drain is all fixed Thanks everyone for their posts. I would not have attempted this repair wiothout the support of the forum. Never worked with PVC before, that glue has some good fumes

Redline
Used a hydralic jack between the wall and vanity couple of pumps, lined up perfect. Then sniffed the pvc glue and admired my work.
