Mystery bathtub leak

I am a newbie to this type of site so have patience with me. My house is on a slab, and built in the 50's. Since I moved in, the bathtub drain has always been slow. It seems to be getting progressively worse as time goes by. On at least two occasions I have had water leak out between where the walls and the bathtub meet out onto the floor and even under the tiles. This only seems to happen when I vigorously plunge the bathtub drain trying to get the water to go down. Does this give a clue to anyone about where a leak might be, as I am clueless. Thank you.

Take off the inspection panel and have somebody watch next time you plunge the tub, that will tell you what you have to repair.

That's some old plumbing--in those days all the fitting were metal of some kind--by now anything could be rotten.

Like Plumberinlaw suggested--open up an inspection port so you can see under the tub at the drain end,

If the tub is 'trapped' by walls that can't be opened--the tub may need to come out to repair.
