Hi!
I bought a house and the current sump pump setup is not very ''fail proof''. I now have a HT in the basement , flooding is not an option.
I already bought a 12v backup pump.
Im interested in
iON genesis sytem, its a computerized system who Automatically alternates two sump pumps every cycle the reduce wear and add redundancy.
So my (2x) 1hp sump pump will be connected to this system.
There is already a 1 1/2 ''Exit'' pipe that exit the house from the underground, that go to a big pipe in a backfilled ditch on the side of the road (no rain/poop sewer here)
But what happen if my little 1 1/2 underground pipe jam or freeze? All my system would be useless...
This summer i will bury a 4inch pipe to connect my gutter to the ditch pipe, my idea is to
also connect my sump pump system to this 4inch pipe to add ''redundancy'' to my system...
So both of my 1hp sump pump and my little 12v backup sump pump will be connected to a ''manifold'' who will give the option to exit the house from 2 different pipe! A existing one who is completely underground (40yo) and a new one who will exit the house above ground with maybe an
ice guard
Please tell me what you think about this idea, i don't know much about Canadian plumber code.
Take note that only 1 pump at the time will be working
Don't mind the generator, i also made this plan to convince my wife we need one
