My water line install to icemaker

I did some googling yesterday and couldn't find any information on installing a water line to my new fridge except for using the piercing valve thing or cutting and installing a new valve. I consider myself too much of a novice to go cutting pipes and installing valves the way a real plumber would do it.

I ventured to the hardware store and I found the perfect thing! A 3/8th to 3/8th with a 1/4 sticking out the side... all 3 were threaded! I stuck the thing on with some sealant tape and I got a 20' Eastman plastic reinforced water line. The new fridge is purring away making ice perfectly

I'm pretty happy with the outcome and it was SUPER easy. The whole install, including drilling my way through about 4 cabinets, took only about 20 minutes. I just wanted to post this information out there so more people might find it and not stress out about "self piercing valves" and what not.

adapters/fittings are groovy things, ain't they? be careful with that eastman line though, they use LSD in it's manufacture, and sometimes the water comes out rainbows.... were those walls melting a minute ago?
