My tub is 1-1/2" away from the wall

I just had to remove the tile walls from my bathroom and want to install a surround. My issue is that the tub sits about 1.5 inches away from the wall. What are my options to address this? It is a cast iron tub that I would prefer not to replace. I tried to upload a pic but this site won't let me.

Fur it out? Sorry I'm a car guy, not a plumber.

pic not real good...but put furring strips..wood...on your existing studs then install moisture resisting drywall ...that should bring you up to tub rim..then install new surround that should cover tub rim...

Just nail 2 X 2's to the studs using siding nails to bring out the wall 1-1/2.

You are using a nail on enclosure, right?
If it's a glue on then we have to go to plan B.

I was planning to put green board behind the surround which would make up half an inch, but that still leaves an inch to go. The surround I was looking at doesn't go to the ceiling and the is still some sheetrock left in place.
