multiple check valves on sump pump

My sewage/ejector current setup has a ball shutoff valve with a check valve.

I would like to keep the existing shutoff valve but I see these clear check valves and I would like to install that as well so I can see the pump is working (my pump just stopped working and I will replace).

It would just be easiest to splice the clear check valve above the existing ball valve.

Will this cause any vapor lock or other isuues?

Thoughts?

I've never seen a clear check valve. But it should go between the ball valve and the pump so you can service it. Also, should only have one check and it should be a swing pattern

That valve is here...campbell...

http://www.amazon.com/Campbell-Quiet...ef=pd_sim_hi_3

The connection at the bottom of the shutoff valve/check valve that is currently there doesn't allow space to insert this valve.

I was planning on cutting the pipe above, and inserting this valve in the vertical pipe going up to the top of the joists. This way if the shutoff valve that is existing stops working, I can tell.

I appreciate anyone pointing out the pitfalls of this plan to me...thanks
