Moving a toilet in bathroom

What kind of issues will I need to address if I want to move a toilet in a large bathroom?

Here's what I want to do.
------------------- <- outside wall of house
| x(toilet) |

| **(new spot) |
---------------------
floor joist run --->
this way

I would like to move the toilet from it's present spot(xx) on the outside wall, across the bathroom(**) and turn it facing along the front wall of the bathroom. We would like to make the shower bigger and this would give us plenty of room. The toilet would be moved about 6 ft or so.

Can you relocate the drain that far? Will there be an issue with having enough fall or pitch in the drain pipe? Can you just extend the vent for the toilet from its original place? I'm sure there are other issues I don't know about. There's no problem in removing the floor to do the framing and plumbing.

Thanks, Randy
