Moving the stove

I'm moving my gas (LP) stove a few feet, but this got me to thinking about inspections again. Am I going to be required to have a 220v outlet installed in that area as well as my gas valve, in case someone years down the line wants electric? It already has a 20a dedicated outlet there to run the clock, timer and oven.

Thanks!

I could see where that would be a good idea, but I doubt they would require it. Not sure on that, just going by what i've seen in new homes.

No, you don't need to install a 240v for what someone else might do
Its not a required circuit unless you actually have an electric stove
My last house was gas, I didn't have any 240v circuits

Thanks, I wasn't sure since they changed the NEC in 08, but it doesn't hurt to ask before I seal the flooring... LOL
Personally, I hate electric stoves.
