Moving Expansion Tank

I am going to install a whole house humidifier system and the space I need on the side of my furnace duct is obstructed by my expansion tank of my water heater. Can I just move this; by heatiing up the solder and swing it towards the wall more? I only need a couple inches so a whole relocation is not necessary. What do I need to do to drain the tank (if necessary)? I tried just grabbing it and trying to turn in with the screw in type fittings, but it would not budge.

Any of hints would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ayuh,... Basically, the "T" fitting you want to turn has to be drained, Dry, then heated to turn...

You can't solder pipes with water in them,...
