Moen Single Lever Faucet

This is probably a silly question, but will that cap with the Moen logo pop off my kitchen faucet? I need to change the cartridge. Does not want to come off. Before I try harder, it might be wise to check with the forum. Its a kitchen single lever faucet, probably vintage 1997.

Moen Single Lever Faucet

Yes, it probably will pop off.
We use a small, screwdriver wrapped with electrical tape -
to accomplish this.
(Don't want to "mar" the finish!)
You'll probably, see a "Phillips-head" screw under-neath.
Careful with that!

Got it. The little piece with the decal does not pop off. Its the entire 1-1/2" dia x 1-3/4" long cap that comes off. Just grab it and lift.

Good!
The plastic cap - right?!
I think you've got it!

Be careful with the screw under-neath that cap -
easy to strip!

Repairs done. Replaced the cardridge and the O-rings around the spout. Good for another 15 years!. I was ready to pay for the pieces when the fellow at HD pulled a cartridge and the O-rings from his warraty bin and gave them to me a no charge. Made my day. Just had to pay for some silicone grease.
