This is my first post and i am thrilled to find a DIY community online. i have a stuck gate valve and am planning to replace it with a ball type valve.
Since i have copper pipes i tried to mark the locations around the valve to cut. The problem is that the upper end of the valve is very close to a L-shaped joint. I have just about 1/4 inch clearance between the joint and the valve.
How do i cut the pipe and if i manage to somehow cut the pipe, i wont have enough pipe to attache the new valve.
Please advise. Thanks a million in advance.
