Market for one month old oil fired hot water tanks
I had a hot water fiasco when I bought the house in April that resulted in me taking one of three choices, replacing my system with a new oil fired tank, waiting 6-9 weeks to get gas lines turned back on, or going electric with an inedequate panel and 100A service that is pretty much maxed. I chose sticking with oil so we could finally move into our house.
Fast forward to today, when Central Hudson (our gas and power company) showed up on site after calling me at 6:30am saying they would be there, and now we have service coming in.
I would love to covert to gas, but I just literally spend $1400+ on a new tank and getting that installed. Is there any market to sell what is now a 1 month old oil fired hot water tank setup?
Can the warranty be transferred to the person who buys the water heater?
The need for oil water heaters is uncommon enough that it could take awhile to sell yours, and you would have to offer a big discount.
The good conscientious technician or serviceperson will carry extra oils and lubricants in case the new pump did not come with oil or the oil was accidentally spilled, so the service call can be completed without an extra visit.
