We have maax shower we installed in 08 that has been leaking. We removed old caulk and recaulked, still leaking. We noticed that where the walls meet the shower pan there is a lot of flex in the wall. From the bottom edge up an inch from pan you can push wall in about 3/8 in.Rest of wall above that point seem good.We are thinking wall is moving on that bottom portion when we are in shower and disturbing silicone seal.Leak comes from one corner oozes between shower wall and metal strip that connects to wall and we did caulk that too. We have been messing with this for months and getting discouraged.About ready to rip out but will give one more try. Deb
What did you do to solve this problem? I too have the same issue, albeit, when I removed the strip of silicone from where the walls meet the base, it allows the water to run back into the base floor and not get trapped behind loose silicone which then gets forced up and out the corners when the water builds up.
I've also been contemplating using rubber in a can to spray seal those corners. I don't get why they designed the shower like that. Those end wall taper down into nothing which allows for easy leaks.
