Low Water Pressure
There seems to be a reduced water pressure when I fill the tub. It takes forever to fill it up. The pressure to all the other faucets, outdoor faucets, and shower is good including the sink in the same bathroom where the tub is. The tub is second to last along the hot water supply line.
Going back couple years, when I had the house inspected, the inspector told me that the tub wasn’t getting any hot water at all and documented that. The previous owner knew exactly what to do and corrected the problem. On the settlement day when I asked what he did, he said that there was some sediment in the water line and explained how to corrected it. Now that time had gone by, I don’t remember exactly what he said. If there is any sediment built up since then which I believe is happening, how can I clean it out?
Another thing to mention if it helps to resolve the tub issue, the sink in the same bathroom as the tub didn’t have any hot water also. I guess the inspector overlooked that. In addition, the shut off values didn’t turn at all. I replaced the values. Upon turning the hot water on, nothing came out. There was cold water coming out. I then, replaced the faucet. The water was dirty for a bit when I turned on the hot water and then cleared out. There was also hot water too. Cold water was fine. The hot and cold water from that faucet which is the last in the hot water supply line been working fine since.
I am assuming there is some sediment in the water supply line clogging the tub faucet and/or the spout which slows the pressure down. As I asked above, how can I clean that out?
By the way, the water is supplied from a well.
I appreciate any inputs. Thanks.
