low hot water pressure in shower only

I bought a foreclosed house and do not have hot water pressure in the shower only. Today, I flushed the hot water heater and checked and cleaned the nipples on top of the tank. I took the shower head off. Since it is only the shower, is there a valve stem or something at the shower faucet where the hot and cold water mix? Thanks

Thanks for responding, Im not sure what a picture would show other than not much water coming out of the shower head. But it is a single handle. Copper pipes.

ok that helps....you did say just hot ...water is .slow could be temp safty control behind handle to prevent scalding....set to low= low pressure...if pressure is low on hot and cold could have clog in faucet or shower arm ..how long did house sit before turning on water?

house was sitting for at least a year, that i know of. i just youtubed my problem and they are showing how to replace a valve cartrage. I guess i will try that in the morning. Yeah, its just the hot water, cold has lots of pressure. When i turn it to hot, all but a very small stream of water comes out. Most of the other threads i googled talk about the hot water heater, but like you stated, it has to be the shower b/c all the other facuets are fine. thanks for responding

Keep in mind that they are all very different animals.
